On my first photo trip to Cuba I felt as if I were back in my high school days in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Vintage American cars, like my first car, a 1954 Studebaker, are still in use. Cuba, however, has far more to offer than old cars. Music is everywhere and is contagious! People pass the afternoon at sidewalk cafes. Wooden drying sheds dot expansive fields of tobacco. Sugarcane fields for rum production - Cuba's other major export, are part of this island's gentle landscape. Its coastline is beautiful and unspoiled by commercial development. Outside of Havana most Cubans live as they have for decades in simple dwellings.
