For two decades, Ron Rosenstock's Ireland trips have earned a reputation as a wonderful exploration of the art of photography and of Ireland itself. The itinerary is set in the last bastion of old Ireland, where traditional culture still thrives. From the home base in County Mayo, in the west of Ireland, we travel south to Connemara and north to Achill Island. Days are spent photographing in one or two spots. These are places you could never find on your own - tiny villages, hidden beaches, ancient abbeys, and druid woods.

Accommodations will be in Ron's "second home" Hillcrest House, located in a lovely part of western Ireland with a view of Croagh Patrick, Ireland's sacred mountain, and the surrounding hills. Purchased exclusively to accommodate photo groups, it is registered with the Irish Tourist Board. Its homelike quality adds to the relaxed atmosphere of the trip. Hillcrest's own cook fixes breakfast every morning, and a hot dinner is served each evening. Lunch is at various restaurants and pubs along the way, or a stop is made in town to put together a picnic to take along into the field. Transport is in a roomy tour van, which has plenty of space for people and equipment.

Departures are limited to a maximum of eleven participants. The trip is intended for people of all leve ls of interest and accomplishment in photography, and all types of cameras and film are acceptable. In fact, you don't have to be a photographer at all to enjoy this tour! Participants are welcome to paint or draw or simply soak up the beautiful Irish countryside and enjoy the friendly people found everywhere.
